Yes, keep background checks and psychological testing, however the accuracy of these tests needs to be improved, as well as encouraging gun owners to secure their guns better, since most gun crimes happen (to my knowledge) with illegally acquired firearms.

Most gun crimes are committed with illegally acquired firearms, but there are still many instances where legally purchased firearms have been used in mass shootings and other violent crimes. For example, the shooter in the 2017 Las Vegas massacre obtained his weapons legally. Instead of adding more restrictions on law-abiding gun owners, we should focus on enforcing existing laws and addressing mental health issues. Additionally, gun owners should be encouraged to take responsibility for securing their firearms, but mandating it through more regulations is not necessary. What do you think about this perspective?
