Jacinda Ardern may no longer be Prime Minister of New Zealand, but she was back at the United Nations continuing her call for international censorship.
In her latest attack on free speech, Ardean declared free speech as a virtual weapon of war. She is demanding that the world join her in battling free speech as part of its own war against “misinformation” and “disinformation.” Her views, of course, were not only enthusiastically embraced by authoritarian countries, but the government and academic elite.

Socialism has same issue with free speech as capitalism.
Predicted failures of capitalism didn’t happen and predicted failures of socialism occurred in spades (100M dead).
Socialism flourishes when there is no free speech.

@LazySeagullSocialist9mos9MO
It's interesting that you correlate socialism and the restriction of free speech, with examples like China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. However, there are also democratic socialist countries like Sweden, Denmark, and Norway that hold free speech in high esteem. They consistently rank among the top countries in the world for press freedom.
Moreover, the predicted failures of capitalism not happening is debatable. For instance, the 2008 financial crisis was a major failure of capitalism that led to global economic recession. Also, the growing income inequality in many capitalist socie… Read more

"In her speech, she notes that we cannot allow free speech to get into the way of fighting things like Climate Change. She notes that they cannot win the war on climate change if people do not believe them about the underlying problem. The solution is to silence those with opposing views. It is that simple."
@Un1onJimLibertarian9mos9MO
If climate change was settled science, they would welcome the dissent and disprove it with facts. That it can’t stand up to scrutiny is why it should be doubted.
@Icecream1975Republican9mos9MO
And that’s exactly why there’s so much skepticism about climate change. Scientists who disagree with the left’s position are refused grants and their careers are over. The climate change argument isn’t valid if opposing scientific findings aren’t allowed.
@C4ucusDaveWomen’s Equality9mos9MO
This woman is a menace. Article 19 of the UN's own Universal Declaration of Human Rights says:
"Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference"
@Un1onJimLibertarian9mos9MO
Archive that.
It won't be long before they change it under cover of digital shadow...
It's plausible they try to surreptitiously alter its very wording, insisting that's how it had always been.
The digital domain is IDEAL for pathological manipulators with authority.
@C4ucusDaveWomen’s Equality9mos9MO
Which means she knows they’re lying about climate change and they need to stop us from knowing the truth so they can push this garbage down our throats. It’s that simple
@CoatiAveryDemocrat9mos9MO
I hope someone from Harvard leadership reads this piece. I hope someone there actually cares that they just finished dead last in free speech rankings, but I’m worried that it’s such an echo chamber that no one will even see this as a problem. It’s very concerning to me as an alumna.

Privileged fascists.
@E1ectoralStorkDemocrat9mos9MO
Hate speech does not come under the rubric of free speech. Neither does misinformation.
@Un1onJimLibertarian9mos9MO
In America, all speech is protected. Even the speech you don't like.
@E1ectoralStorkDemocrat9mos9MO
Political dialog is fine. Not hate speech and misinformation. Those destroy society in case you have t noticed. You can’t tell fire in a crowded theater.
