Because the mother, and all people, have the right to decide who can or cannot use their body, at any time, for any or no reason. Another person's right to life, even a baby's, does not get to overrule any other person's right to bodily autonomy; even if you were going to die, you would still not have the right to use another person's body if they don't want you to. That's why the right to life of a fetus/baby still doesn't get to override the autonomy of the mother on the use of her own body.
