This moment is simply a collection of cells, as is much of the progression through the next several weeks, and some may consider even up to the month and a half-ish point. I believe that the moment of biological difference between a fetus and a ‘child,’ so to speak, is when it is no longer an amorphous collection of cells, but an organism containing organs and potential viability. I will admit that there is not currently enough research present to the public in a digestible form for the masses to truly make an informed decision, but some at this time would call the heartbeat/brain activity stage this moment of biological difference. If we were to say that the moment of conception is the true time of ‘life creation,’ then this to me is only speaking to the potential of a child, which is no more valid than eggs and sperm being in the same vicinity. This begs the question of eventually imposing chastity laws so that there are no close calls between eggs and sperm to those that could eventually abort said fetus. This scenario sounds ridiculous, but no more so to some, including myself, than imposing laws on womens bodies, and this is where we are heading with a universal abortion ban.
