Actually, modern science does not support this. While yes, some places have found findings that all transgender people have gender dysphoria (I wonder why this correlation exists, /sarcasm) this is not an effective cure. Many people have expressed continued problems after their transitions. While some are happy and make it past, some are not. I agree that it is a mental disorder. However, many people who tried a therapeutic route also expressed positive results. It is not factual to state that all modern science concurs, it actually does not, nor that the only treatment is transitioning. In… Read more fact, the Jordan B. Peterson situation right now is a fair example. Everything he says (as a prominent research psychologist) has cited sources and backing, yet Canada is choosing to silence him. I'm not saying transitioning isn't an option. However, someone under the legal age to drink alcohol, buy guns, and actually use the organs they're trying to get should not be able to do irreversible damage/change to their body. If they REALLY have to transition, they could wait until they're 18 or 21. Teenagers are the most famously mentally unstable group of people on the planet, other than terrorists, they shouldn't be allowed to make important decisions like this yet. It's not transphobia (which is actually a misnomer, it should be transist) it's just that we only have ten or so years of research on this being done in depth, and until we have more, it's not a good idea to increase access to this.
