Children under 18 are allowed to get any medical procedures if their parents consent. To ban medical procedures related to gender transitioning under 18 you would have to prove how those specific treatments cause harm which we don’t have any objective proof of.

But greenlighting that surgery, whatever it is, is done by making a honest and informed decision. Doctors are scaring parents by saying things like "Would you rather have a living son, or a dead daughter?" This scares parents into making this decision, rather than looking at the other options available.

And as for the proof of it being harmful, the most in depth, long term study we have shows that people who get these gender affirming procedures done are 27 times more likely to commit suicide. But the doctors don't care, or even don't know about that data. They just take the paycheck. And the parents are left scared and guilty.

Kids shouldn't even be worried about transitioning, they are too young to know whats best for them. Kids also make stupid mistakes and if they transition then they will have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

Children are becoming suicidal because they cannot be who they want to be, being trans isn't hurting anyone, so let the kids do what they want.

 @9GMXT4B from Georgia agreed…6mos6MO

Wholeheartedly agree. Especially with the rampant lies about the “reversibility” of the hormones and drugs being injected into these children without their proper ability to consent

i dont think you should be able to change you gender until the age 21 same as drinking smoking or any other things legalie, people dont even know what they want for dinner but can change there gender and make everyone follow along with there **** ed brains.

I agree, if they do it at a young age they might regret it later on and a lot of people who had surgery at a young age end up regretting it.

 @9GLNHGNIndependent from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

I agree! I believe that gender transition should be able to take place at the age of 21 or not take place at all

 @9GKSXFWRepublican from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

Yes, I completely agree with this statement. Child gender-transition surgery needs to be outlawed, as our laws do not allow for any other life-altering decisions to be made at a young age.

 @9GLCJ3F from Connecticut agreed…6mos6MO

I agree, children don't have the maturity in a decision like that and should only decide when adults so that they are aware of what they want.

 @9GLC2BV from Ohio agreed…6mos6MO

I agree that children should be fully aware of this decision and support the age being moved up to 25 or even 30.

 @9GLBK2N  from Louisiana agreed…6mos6MO

I have family members who I thought were trans that didn't identify as the sex they were born until they hit puberty. Transitioning genders while they were children would have destroyed their life. I see a lot of trans people who regret transitioning as kids because they were coerced by adults to do it.

Children know their identities. This is a personal decision, from within, as opposed to a decision made from external factors. In this case, the arguments presented here - while valid - are moot.

 @9GNZHN4 from Massachusetts disagreed…6mos6MO

According to most accepted theories of gender identity, it is not an action that we complete but an identity that we assume. This is not governed by the same cognitive processes as drinking, smoking, and voting. This is an instinctual feeling of who we ARE, not what we wish to DO. This makes gender identity, supposing we all accept this theory of it, protected under the American natural right to liberty.

 @9GNV4WG from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

agree, however I think the age should be dropped until 18, I believe people at that age have the common sense and ability to know what's right and wrong and what's smart and stupid.
