My perspective on the matter is that the Israeli government isn't attacking Palestine; they are attacking Hamas which is a terrorist group that has held the Gaza strip as territory since 2016. They began the war with attacking southern Israel so Israel responded with seizing the borders of Gaza. Since then, Hamas members and Israeli military have both contributed to the casualty count. The reason as to why the Israeli military is 'attacking' civilian buildings is because major Hamas leaders is in the tunnels beneath houses, hospitals, and government buildings in Gaza. They are trying to get to the Hamas leaders but can't without risking casualties. When there is war, there is bound to be casualties. That is how war is. I despise how this war has bled into Americans and how my fellow Americans have reacted to it. As an Ashkenazi *** in America, I am thoroughly disappointed when I see anti-semitism on the rise due to this conflict.
