Would you support a system where all your basic needs are provided for by the state, but your ability to achieve more is limited?

Communism is definitionally stateless, so I would still reject the state regardless.

However, if I still had to choose between a state that guarantees all my needs are provided for at the expense of personal wealth/success OR a state that maintains the right of capital-owners to profit off of the fruits of my labor while leaving me to figure out how to survive on the crumbs, then obviously I would still pick the first option.
