I disagree with this as evidence to justify the border wall however.
While the border wall has seen success in lowering illegal immigration, it's a very poor economic decision seeing as it was a significant price to build, and our economy will continue to suffer due to the lower immigration rates. Seeing as we currently have a worker shortage that is only expected to get worse as the U.S citizens are projected to have less children in the future, immigration is currently the best way to keep the American population up, thereby solving the worker shortage issue. Investing more into making immigration a much simpler process will greatly decrease illegal immigration into the U.S and greatly increase legal immigration, which will have positive long-term effects on the economy. I hypothesize that the main cause of illegal immigration in the U.S is simply due to the difficulty of the immigration process in its current form.
