But I must beg the question: what is the sole motivating factor for why people behave this way? Under a system that has gotten rid of and progressed past capitalism, there would be no profit motive and that would remove competition and get rid of the need to horde and "defend you resources". If you are aware of the nature vs nurture question, the answer is very much both. Yes, people are naturally built to survive and look out for their own, especially when they feel in danger. But there is a certain degree of hostility that is taught to you as you grow up in a capitalistic society so that you don't get scammed or used or tricked. In a society where there is no money, no class, no state, there would be no need to scam or trick you, we don't have money. The only way we would be able to get things is through cooperation like we had to do for thousands of years. If you are good at making shirts, and I can build a piano, the only way for us to truly get these things wouldn't be to kill each other and take them, we would have to work out a deal and honor it if we want these things, otherwise, we are out of luck. So long as we still have capitalism, we will continue to feel under threat and isolated. IT IS in our nature to defend our own, but "our own" is other human beings. IT IS NOT some quality that is innate to humans to build wealth, that is a construct born out of slave societies, monarchies, and capitalism.
