That would be catastrophic for Republicans. Democrats today across the board hate our limited-federal-role Republic - the only thing that protects our civil liberties from the only thing that can permanently deny them, and that’s government itself.

That’s laughable at best, Trump is going to EMPOWER the government, not weaken it, but he’ll simply decrease regulations on the “free” market to give them the ability to do what they want, but he still seeks a maximalist version of Unitary Executive Theory, strengthening his personal power. He will most definitely be an authoritarian.
