I do not believe there will ever be a point at which war is obsolete because it's a part of human nature, where competition continues, and the pursuit of power and dominance harms people.

Since the beginning of time, there has been competition for smaller things such as food and mates. This is typically seen in animals, humans are animals. Someone will always want to be the leader.
