No, funding should be used for more training to prevent unnecessary deaths of civilians like mentally ill, unarmed, and detained people. Police need to stop being afraid or not be a police officer because them being afraid is costing civilians their lives. They need to be trained to always announce themselves, to stop shooting first then ask questions because most the time the accused person is innocent and/or unarmed. They need to be trained to make sure they raid the right address/house because them going to the wrong location is getting innocent people that live there killed, they need to stop using excessive force especially when the suspect is already detained and can’t defend themselves. They need to be trained to deescalate mental health calls instead of killing the mentally unstable person. They also need to stop racial profiling especially black men because it’s getting more innocent people killed just because of the color of their skin.
