That comparison leaves out two *VERY* important things. Number one -- Alaska also has one of the highest rate of drunkenness in the nation, not to mention of substance abuse, which are two very important factors in contributing to firearm-related deaths. In addition, there are a lot of mental health problems up there because 90 days of the year the sun never rises and the 75 it never sets -- so people are very thrown off during the days of darkness.
